Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE)
The basic purpose of otoacoustic emissionsΒ (OAE) tests is to determine cochlear status, specifically hair cell function. This test performs to findings:
- Screen hearing (particularly in neonates, infants, or individuals with developmental disabilities).
- Partially estimate hearing sensitivity within a limited range.
- Differentiate between the sensory and neural components of sensorineural hearing loss.
- Test for functional (feigned) hearing loss.
The information can be obtained from patients who are sleeping or even comatose because no behavioral response is required. The RCHI is the most equipped hearing center in Pakistan to perform this test for all types of hearing loss.
Evoked Response Audiometry (ERA)
Development of the hearing mechanism in the human body starts within the initial couple of weeks after birth. So, it’s highly recommended that ERA testing be executed at the earliest opportunity at whatever point there is the slightest doubt of a consultation issue. The main solid test strategy in this early time of life is the electric reaction audiometry. To utilize the benefits of this target test technique, a few criteria must be met. The most critical of these are
- Higher Sedation,
- Adequate test routine, including clicks as well as 500 Hz heartbeats and bone-led boosts
- Adequate involvement in the translation of the different recorded reaction designs. RCHI offers the best ERA test services across Pakistan.
