Oto Acoustic Emissions (OAE)
The basic purpose of oto-acoustic emission (OAE) tests is to determine cochlear status, specifically hair cell function. RCHI’s professionals perform this test to reach following findings:
Screen hearing (particularly in neonates, infants, or individuals with developmental disabilities)
Partially estimate hearing sensitivity within a limited range.
Differentiate between the sensory and neural components of sensorineural hearing loss
Test for functional (feigned) hearing loss. The information can be obtained from patients who are sleeping or even comatose because no behavioral response is required. Rehabilitation Center for Hearing Impaired is the most equipped hearing center of Pakistan to perform this test for all types of hearing loss.
